How to make Parabola graphic of quadratic function?

The steps :
1. First step is you have to recognize the equation of quadratic function, whether upside down or right side-up.
To determine the graphic, you can see the equation ax2 + bx + c = 0, if a ( a < 0 ) is negative so the graph is right-side up parabola, while if a ( a > 0 ) is positive so the graph is upside down parabola.
2. Secondly, find the intercept of equation. To determine the x-intercepts and y-intercepts, with use the factorization formula. The x-intercept which y = 0, after we get the result X1 and X2 we can find the intersection point. For example we get the result X1 = 2 and X2 = 4, so the intersection point to X-intercepts is (2,0) and (4,0).
For the y-intercepts which x = 0 and then put the x = 0 into the equation. So we can find the y-intercepts.
3. Thirdly, determine the vertex point by using (h,k).
h = - b/2a and k = - D/4a , which D = b2 – 4ac from the ax2 + bx + c = 0
Vertex point use to determine the symmetry point of graph and then to determine whether maximum or minimum point.
4. After you can determine the point in each step, sketch the graph of parabola of quadratic function with connected each point in the Cartesian plane. So, the graph has been drawing.
