Reflection during School Experience

Awesome! This is a word which can represent my feeling during school experience. Firstly, I thought that I did not get a good experience because my school named SMAIT Nurul Fikri, Depok had been did mid exam in the first week. It means that I could not do anything in the first week. My friends and I just came to do absence and after that back to home without teaching. At second day, I suggested to my friend who had mathematics major to become observer during mid exam. I remembered that I got assignment from UET major to do anecdotal record in the first week. So we ask for permission to observe the students who did mid exam. We have allowed as long as one observer for one class. Finally, we became observer in different class.
Unfortunately, I did not get anything from observe the students who did mid exam. They just wrote on the paper or even just permission to go to the toilet. Therefore, the next day we did not observer again in first week. So in the first week, I just acquainted with the headmaster and the master teacher (guru pamong). I met the master teacher of mathematics named Mr. Suratno (for 10th class) and Mr. Imran (for 11th class). They gave challenge for my friends and me to teach the students in 11th grades. So my partner and I take a chance to prepare lesson plan and some activities in the class. SMAIT Nurul Fikri Depok has homogen class (only girls or boys).
The second week has arrived. For the first time, Wia and I were teaching in XI Social 2 class (girls class). Honestly, I felt so nervous to teach them whereas I have been prepared all. Time to teach is begun; I felt my explanation was quickly. It turns out was correct! When I got reflection from the students, some of them said that my explanation was quickly and they said that I am unfriendly. I got shock that I am unfriendly, maybe because I am nervous so I could not make a good interaction for them. Besides that, I thought that I am less control the time. So, I need more time to finish the lesson and I made their break time was decreased. So, I made a new plan to teach in other class when I got reflection from the master teacher.
In the second time, Wia and I were teaching in XI Social 1 class (boys class). It was Totally Different! I felt calm and confident to teach them. I made a brain teaser which made them was interested. They looked enjoy with the brain teaser. After that, almost of them was respected my explanation about the material. After the class was over, I got positive reflection from them. Not only had them, even my master teacher also given a good reflection for us.
In the third time, I did teach XI Social 2 class (girls’ class). I gave the same brain teaser. They also looked enjoy and excited. It was different than before; I made an interaction with the students. But for management the time, again and again I could not manage it well. I confused why I could not manage the time well in Girls class than Boys class? That question which will become my reflection.
I have been getting a lot of things that I got from SMAIT Nurul Fikri, Depok. My master teacher gave many suggestions to me, such as “Be their friends if you want to become their teacher” or “Let the students is answering the problem before you gives the answer” or “If you want to know whether your students have been understood about the material then choose passive students to answer the problem”, and etc. J
